Mbappe is on the move
Inter Miami has become Lionel Messi’s new destination as he departs Paris Saint-Germain, leaving behind Kylian Mbappe, whose future is the subject of intense speculation as the summer transfer window begins.
In defense of his former teammate, Kylian Mbappe expresses that Lionel Messi’s departure from Paris Saint-Germain cannot be seen as “good news.” Mbappe believes that Messi, regarded as potentially the greatest player in the history of football, deserved more respect during his time in the French capital. Despite facing criticism and not winning the Champions League, Messi’s decision to join Inter Miami signifies his readiness to wind down his incredible career.
The discussions surrounding Messi’s move have been fervent, with the 35-year-old choosing not to return to Barcelona despite engaging in talks with Camp Nou officials before finalizing his transfer to Inter Miami. Although Barcelona was confident in his return, Messi ultimately decided that going back to Catalunya would prove too challenging. He wanted to avoid a situation similar to his previous exit and not leave his future in the hands of others.
Messi, in an interview with Sport, explains his desire to come back to Barcelona but cites the difficulties he faced and the uncertainties he would have to endure. He did not want to repeat the same situation and wait for the outcome. Taking charge of his own decision-making, he prioritized his family’s well-being and wanted to avoid being entangled in the financial complications that awaited him at Barcelona.
Thus, Messi’s move to Inter Miami marks a new chapter in his career, driven by his desire for autonomy and a fresh start away from the challenges he experienced before.
PSG now wants to show its authority and place the club above everything, including Kylian Mbappe. They no longer want players to be above the institution. No one is now irreplaceable. PSG’s relationship with Kylian Mbappe and his entourage is now broken. They will sell him this summer if they receive a satisfactory offer.
The French club believe Mbappe leaked the letter on purpose to force a move now. They believe him to be ungrateful. Their message to clubs who want to sign Kylian Mbappe is ‘come with the right money and you will get him’. The price tag is €200M. PSG would like to sign Antoine Griezmann in case Kylian Mbappé leaves. Atlético could be convinced to sell the Frenchman with an offer of €100m, but Diego Simeone and Griezmann would reject the move.
Kylian Mbappé: “I did not say that I wanted to be transferred to Real Madrid or that I wanted to leave. Only that I will not activate the option concerning the additional year. With PSG, we never talked about a contract extension.”
Braham Diaz: The Chosen
Real Madrid has officially announced that Brahim Diaz has agreed to a new four-year contract after his comeback to the club.
The initial transfer fee paid by Los Blancos to Manchester City for Diaz was £15.5 million in January 2019. However, the young Spanish player struggled to make an impact at the club and was subsequently sent on a one-year loan to AC Milan in the summer of 2020.
During his time at Milan, Diaz flourished and became a vital player for the Serie A side, even winning the league title in the 2021/22 season. Now, he has returned to Spain to rejoin Real Madrid’s first team.
Upon his return, Diaz signed a fresh contract that will keep him at Real Madrid until the summer of 2027. The 23-year-old will be reintroduced to the media on Tuesday, June 13.
During his initial 18 months at Real Madrid, Diaz featured in 21 matches, contributing two goals and three assists. However, he mostly found himself on the bench or out of the squad.
His loan spell at Milan presented Diaz with an opportunity to revive his career, and he departs Italy as a Serie A champion, accumulating an impressive 124 appearances for the Rossoneri.
The 2022/23 season proved to be Diaz’s most fruitful campaign to date. The Spanish player excelled, netting six goals and providing seven assists for Milan. He primarily operated in an attacking midfield role, occasionally featuring on the left wing.
With the departures of Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, and Mariano Diaz, Diaz’s return to Real Madrid will be instrumental in filling the void left by these players.
Ilkay Gundogan could join Barcelona
On Tuesday, Ilkay Gundogan will finalize his decision regarding his future, as the Manchester City midfielder continues to contemplate an offer from Barcelona.
While Barcelona holds great admiration for Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix and Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, the financial demands associated with acquiring either player may prove to be excessive.
Deco, on the other hand, is advocating for the signing of Ivan Fresneda, the right-back from Real Valladolid, whose relegation from La Liga has reduced his release clause to €20m. Several other European clubs have also expressed interest in the 18-year-old talent.
Yannick Carrasco is not a priority target for Barcelona, given his price tag of €16m. The club will only consider pursuing the Belgian winger if they can secure a minimum fee of €40m from the sale of Ferran Torres.
Newcastle has submitted a €40m bid for Ferran Torres, as they aim to bring the Spanish international back to the Premier League.
Barcelona is actively seeking to offload Ansu Fati due to his high wages, making him a likely candidate for departure.
In their pursuit of additional cover for striker Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona has made the decision to pursue 18-year-old starlet Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense, a move that has garnered unanimous support from all parties involved in the club’s transfer negotiations.
Furthermore, Barcelona has reached an agreement to sign highly rated center-back Mikayil Faye from NK Kustosija, with an initial payment of €5m being agreed upon.
